Games are a great way to teach, record and review information or assess learning. I foresee using games to help students record learning or review a topic.  Also I would like to use games to determine what the students have successfully learned and target areas that need reinforcement.

Quizlet
This had a lot of features that I liked:
  • a variety of tests (some timed) to suit various learning styles
  • for incorrect answer, asked you to type in the correct answer
  • option to have text read aloud
  • could override the answer if you thought you were right (ex. "daffodil" vs. "daffodils.")
  • kept reviewing questions answered incorrectly until they were mastered.
  • showed results in such a way as to indicate what areas needed more work, but stated in a non-threatening way
  • collaborative learning with Quizlet Live
  • can be created in a variety of languages with special fonts to accommodate corresponding alphabets
  • Super-easy to add images!
Downside:
  • Related to terms and definitions only

Here is my sample Quizlet which I built around a unit we are currently doing with the 3rd grade on the Sun, Moon, and Earth entitled 3rd Grade Solar System. I posted a link to the Quizlet in the third grade Google Classrooms.
